Patricia Jane Summerlin
February 18, 1925 - December 14, 2011
Savannah- Patricia Jane Summerlin, 86, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Hospice House.
Peggy was born in Savannah, one of nine children to Herschel and Clara Summerlin. She began a lifelong career working for the government at the age of 18. Her work took her from working at the Pentagon, to Hunter Army Air Field and two years in Saudi Arabia. She retired after thirty three years with the Corp of Engineers. She was a member of Ardsley Park Baptist Church. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Herschel Summerlin, Jr., Catherine Barthelmess, William Summerlin, Dorothy Smith and Lucy Burton.
Survivors include her sisters, Margie O'Berry of Savannah, Mary Lou Chandler of Tyler, TX; brother, John Summerlin of Jacksonville, FL and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 16, 2011 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
